i'm also kinda low on potions and it's hard to earn any GIL's.
someone keeps using the potions and i'm pretty sure it wasn't me.
Update: Actually, I beat Odin just now. It was actually pretty easy. I basically set Hope as the ravenger and Lightning as the medic. I let Hope do all the attack and leave the healing to Lightning. And I keep myself at "Yin & Yang" the entire time. Never used any potions whatsoever.
hmm
this might be of use *copypastas from kotaku*
Don't bother to upgrade weapons without some kind of guide. I don't know if the game ever gives you a suitable tutorial on this, but you can waste expensive components like crazy just trying to get equipment up to a reasonable level.
*spoilers: strategy, equipment*
Some components are good for nothing more than raising your multiplier, as they don't give much exp. Others give a lot of exp per shot, but inevitably reduce your multiplier when used up.
The idea is to build your multiplier to 3x on the low exp organic items, then switch to the high exp nuts and bolts stuff to capitalize on the multiplier before it drops.
Luckily the low exp, high multiplier items are pretty cheap, if you don't have enough from monster drops.
Also, you don't make gil in the game from looting chests or grinding mobs -- you make it from selling component loot drops. Some components are worth hundreds of thousands of gil.
Finally, you should never, ever, sell a weapon in FFXIII! Upgrades are what gives a weapon its strength, not its seemingly weak initial stats.
Weapons that carry augmentations and buffs are always going to be less powerful than those without, but those augmentations can be extremely useful.
Weapons without buffs come in 3 flavors: those that boost physical damage, magic damage, or both simultaneously (at a slight strength reduction). Most character starter weapons are good all-around items, and it is difficult to find better ones until much later in the game. By then, a smart player will have those starter weapons heavily upgraded, and be doing some serious damage.

my friend with the ps3 version did. from what he told me, he advised people not to waste their time on it. all it does is give you an item for the upcoming final fantasy 14. this item is useless in FF13.
w00t!!!! there is a chinese version of final fantasy 13 coming out in may for the ps3.
it's confirmed to have chinese subtitles with the original japanese audio track.
(most asian version of ps3 and xbox360 games also have english subtitles...)
NoOoooo she should be British too.. SHAKESPEAREAN BRI'ISH
Australiiaaan noooooo ;_;
There is a bright side to this, that maybe her irritating voice will lead to people reselling their FFXIII's for cheaper.. so then I can obtain it... for cheap <_<
... did FFXIII come with anything in the Canadian version? Or is it preorder bonus only?
curious, does the chocobo actually do anything?
i kinda liked vanille
the chocobo can cast knights of the round at a 0.01% chance if sazh's health is below 3%.... other then that, it just resides in sazh's fro
